The two-day Central Working Committee meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) commenced today at Shri Damodar Sansthan, Jambaolim, Goa. The meeting will hold in-depth deliberations on important issues related to education, society, organisation, environment, culture, sports, and service, and will formulate plans for upcoming activities. A total of 106 delegates from across the country are expected in the meeting. The formal inauguration of the meeting was carried out by ABVP National President Prof. (Dr.) Raghuraj Kishore Tiwari, National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki, and National Organising Secretary Shri Ashish Chauhan through the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
Along with discussions on the prevailing educational, national, and social circumstances, deliberations were held on the theme, nature, and framework of the Organisational Vichar Baithak 2026, a review of the 71st National Conference (2025–26), and follow-up on issues concerning students.
On the first day, extensive discussions were also held on programmes to be organised on the occasion of the RSS Centenary Year; the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda; the 500th coronation anniversary of Maharani Abbakka; 150 years of Vande Mataram; the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji; and the birth centenary year of Yashwantrao Kelkar. Along with discussions on organisational work and reforms in university curricula, suggestions for upcoming programmes were presented.
ABVP National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki stated that during the academic session 2025–26, a total of 77,25,508 students across the country have taken ABVP membership, which is the highest membership recorded since the organisation’s expansion phase. This reflects the growing inspiration of today’s youth towards the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.
On the first day, discussions were held on issues related to education. During this, important matters such as irregularities prevalent in educational campuses across the country and unethical fee hikes were discussed in detail.
ABVP National President Prof. Raghuraj Kishore Tiwari stated, “The Central Working Committee meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad plays a significant role in strengthening the organisation. Today’s meeting is being held at a place where the roots of Bharatiya Vedic and Vedantic traditions are found. Certainly, this meeting in Goa will be extremely important from the perspective of reviewing ABVP’s activities and programmes conducted over the past few months and formulating an effective action plan for the coming days.”
ABVP National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki said, “Due to its distinctive working methodology, ABVP has today emerged as the world’s largest student organisation. In this meeting, key ABVP activists from across the country will review the campaigns and programmes conducted over the past three to four months and hold detailed discussions on the future course of action. The land of Goa is not only geographically significant but also holds immense cultural and historical importance. Serious discussions were held on education-related issues during the meeting as well. ABVP has clearly expressed its concern over irregularities in educational campuses across the country, unethical fee hikes, and the condition of hostels. To address these issues, a ‘Hostel Survey Campaign’ will be launched nationwide from February, through which ground realities will be brought to the forefront and concrete interventions will be undertaken. Through the ‘Screen Time to Activity Time’ campaign, initiated on the occasion of National Youth Day, efforts are being made to pull youth out of digital addiction and connect them with sports, social service, creative, and physical activities. This campaign is an important initiative towards the holistic development of youth. Additionally, through historic occasions such as the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the 500th coronation anniversary of Maharani Abbakka, the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, 150 years of Vande Mataram, and the Sangh Centenary Year, national consciousness, social awareness, and cultural pride among students will be further strengthened.”
