The Old Goa Free Legal Aid Cell of V. M. Salgaocar College successfully conducted an informative awareness program on the POCSO Act – Protection of Children from Sexual Offences on 19 January 2026 at Madkaikar Higher Secondary School of Arts and Science, Corlim, Goa, starting from 11:15 a.m.
The session featured an enlightening lecture by PSI Harshal Raikar and Advocate Aloysia Andrade, who explained the legal framework of the POCSO Act, its significance, and the crucial role of society in safeguarding children’s rights and safety. The speakers also addressed legal procedures, responsibilities, and preventive measures related to child protection.
The program was well received by students and staff, creating meaningful awareness about child safety, justice, and legal remedies. Interactive discussions made the session engaging and informative.
