Goa Forest Department celebrating wildlife week from 2nd October 28 of October under this program various activities are planned in all protected areas of of Goa. The wildlife week program was inaugurated at Bhagwan Mahaveer National Park at the hands of Dr Ganesh Gaonkar Honorable MLA ok Savorde constituency and chairman GTDC, the dignitaries present doing the function are Shri Rajiv Kumar Gupta IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Shri Santosh Kumar IFS, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Shri Saurabh Kumar IFS, Chief Conservator of Forest, Dr Kannan IFS , Conservator of Forest, Shri Anand Jadhav Deputy Conservator of Forest, wildlife and ecotourism, the function was also attended by Sarpanch and panch members of village panchayat collem and village panchayat Molem . The chief guest of the function released brochure on Bondla wildlife sanctuary and Zoological park also released report on Butterfly survey of Bondla wildlife sanctuary and released poster on Marine biodiversity of Goa.

The local youths trained as nature guide were awarded certificates at the hands of the chief guest of the function. The five field staff of Goa forest dept were felicitated for commendable service in the field of wildlife conservation and wildlife awareness. The chief guest for the function applauded and appreciated services provided by the forest department in Eco tourism forest protection and wildlife management, he also appreciated training of local youth as nature guides which provides alternative source of livelihood, he also stated that Forest Department this action will go a long way in promotion of ecotourism and sustainable use of forest resource. He appealed to the local people through his panch members to respect the forest laws to mitigate the conflict between Forest Department villagers. The pccf Shri Rajeev Kumar Gupta in a speech highlighted a sequence of wildlife conservation of its sustainable use by the community so that resources can be passed on to the next-generation. Shri Santosh Kumar chief wildlife Warden of the state gave a welcome address during the function and and detailed report of various activities being conducted by the forest department for 71st wildlife week celebration was presented. Shri Anand Jadhav Deputy Conservator of Forest give vote of thanks. On the occasion of 71st wildlife week celebration nature Education Centre was inaugurated at aranyak Campsite in Collam by Dr Ganesh Gaonkar in presence of other dignitaries.
