MARGAO: Ahead of the commemoration of the death Anniversary of renowned Parliamentarian Dr Francisco Luis Gomes, two directional sign boards were installed showing the directions to Dr Francisco Luis Gomes District Library at Colmorod-Margao.

Former Chairperson and Congress leader Savio Coutinho who arranged the directional sign boards informed that the District Library had made a fervent request for directional sign boards, as students and other visitors often complained that they faced problems to locate the library due to the absence of proper signages.  As such in view of the commemoration of the death Anniversary of Late Dr Francisco Luis Gomes on 30th September we decided to install the boards ahead of the same.

Another big dream of ours is to save and restore the original house of Dr Francisco Luis Gomes,  Coutinho said while hoping that the government would take appropriate measures to save the house of Dr  Gomes.

Zacarias Goes said that Late Dr Francisco Luis Gomes and his family has done a lot for Navelim which very few people know. The land for Rosary High school was donated by his family he said, which now caters to thousands of students. The district Library was a project of Former Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro, Goes informed.

Local resident Maria Celia Diniz who resides in the vicinity of the library informed that often people come to her house asking for directions to the District library. With the installation of the sign boards this problem is solved,  she said.

The south District library incharge thanked  Savio Coutinho for conceding to their request in a very short time.
