PANAJI: Governor of Goa P S Sreedharan Pillai will unfurl the National Flag, review the parade, and address the people at the main state level function of Republic Day celebration organise at Goa University Ground, Taleigao at 8.15 am on January 26.
On the arrival of Governor at the venue of the function, he will be received by the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, Chief Secretary, Dr V Candavelou, IAS, Director General of Police, Alok Kumar, Flag Officer Commanding Goa Area and Station Commander Army.
Apart from the Chief Minister, the Republic Day function will also be attended by the Cabinet Ministers, Leader of opposition Yuri Alemao, Judges of High Court, Ld Advocate General, Members of Parliament, MLA’s and other dignitaries.
The highlight of the Republic Day celebration will be the presentation of Mass Parade Display, Mass Dance and Mass Songs by School children to be organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs.
Minister for Law and Judiciary Aleixo Sequeira will unfurl the national flag at the District Level function to be held at Margao whereas, Minister for Agriculture Ravi Naik will unfurl the National Tricolor at Ponda. In addition to this, Minister for Tourism Rohan Khaunte will unfurl the National Flag at Mapusa and Minister for Transport Mauvin Godinho will unfurl the National Flag at Chicalim. Similarly, Minister for Social Welfare Subhash Phal Dessai will unfurl the National Flag at Sanguem, Minister for Water Resources Subhash Shirodkar will unfurl the National Flag at Canacona, Minister for Fisheries Nilkant Halarnkar will unfurl the National Flag at Pernem and the Minister for Power Ramkrishna alias Sudin Dhavalikar will unfurl the National Flag at Quepem.
Mayem MLA Premendra Shet and Sanvordem MLA Ganesh Gaonkar will unfurl the national flag at Bicholim and Dharbandora respectively. Besides, the Dy Collector for Sattari will unfurl the national flag at Valpoi.
