The “Amchem Kopel Amkam Zai” campaign continues to gather momentum in Tivim as villagers strongly oppose the proposed construction in Survey No. 302/39-A at Gavoim, near the St Francis Xavier Chapel. Concerned residents have already submitted formal complaints to the Panchayat, BDO, and the Town and Country Planning Department Goa, urging authorities to halt any approvals or activities linked to the project.
Leading the movement, Manoj Parab along with his team has been actively conducting ward-level meetings across the village to create awareness about the Gavoim project as well as other proposed megaprojects in Tivim. So far, four ward meetings have been successfully conducted, drawing strong participation from local residents who have expressed serious concerns about the long-term impact of such developments.

Addressing villagers, Parab warned that if such projects are allowed unchecked, Tivim could face irreversible damage, threatening its ecology, heritage, and the very existence of local communities. He emphasized that Tivim already ranks second in land conversions under 39-A, calling the situation alarming and demanding immediate public vigilance.
The campaign has called upon all villagers to unite and collectively resist what they describe as a growing “megaproject menace,” stressing that only a strong and united people’s movement can safeguard the future of Tivim and ensure that locals are not displaced from their own land.
