On 27/05/2023 Garbada Police Station, Gujrat team contacted Old Goa Police Station for wanted accused Mr. Harish Bhai s/o Rakesh Bhai Bilwal R/o Faliyu Kharva Panchwada Dohad Gujrat in Garbada PS Crime No. 11821024230051/2023 u/s 363,366 IPC wherein minor girl was kidnapped by accused for the forceful marriage. The Old Goa Police and Gujarat police were in continues coordination and collected information and were able to narrow down the position of accused around St. Cruz. Three teams of Old Goa Police Station were formed who conducted search along with Gujarat Police and finally nabbed the accsued at Bambolim-Goa. The Gujrat Police took the accused for investigation.
It is tradition in some part of Gujarat to take away girls and get them into forceful marriage. Later matters are settled within families and marriage is accepted in most case. But in this case marriage will not be settled as petition was filed in High Court by father of the victim who is in the forces.
