NO NEED OF A LOCK DOWN IN GOA : CM PRAMOD SAWANT
VASCO: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Sunday ruled out another lockdown in Goa and urged people to take precautions to prevent spread of coronavirus.
Reacting to ongoing rumours of another lockdown in the State amidst the rising cases of COVID-19 in many parts of the country, the Chief Minister clarified that there was no need for another lockdown in Goa and urged Goans to take necessary precautions and to wear face marks, use sanitiser and to maintain social distancing and not to gather in crowds.
There is no need for lockdown, sawant told media persons at Dabolim airport after returning from Delhi.

HAD A GREAT DETAILED MEETING IN DELHI REGARDING THE MINING ACTIVITY, WE WILL HAVE A POSITIVE OUTCOME: CM PRAMOD SAWANT
Sawant said he was in Delhi to discuss the mining issue with the Centre and also assured of a positive outcome soon. In Delhi, he met Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister for Mines Prahlad Joshi and Minister for Petroleum and Natural gas Dharmendra Pradhan and held detailed discussion on the mining issue.
“Had a good meeting regarding mining with the Home Minister Amit Shah, Mines Minister Prahlad Joshi and Petroluem Minister Dharmedra Pradhan. We had a detailed discussion on the issue and we also tried to find a solution since the matter was in the Supreme Court. We also spoke about legislative option available and while we are wanting to start mining activity, the Centre is also equally concerned about the mining resumption in the State.
We will have few more meeting on the issue but as of now we feel very positive on the issue and efforts will be put to ensure that mining activity starts soon and we will have a fee more meetings so that a positive solution is derived,” said Sawant.
