PANAJI: Shenoi Goembab School of Languages and Literature vice dean Prakash Parienkar stressed the need to uplift morals taught by our elders. Prakash Parienkar was speaking after inaugurating multilingual literature festival on theme ‘Morality is freedom’ organized by Konkani Shanti publications wherein multilingual kavi sammelan held and also felicitated poets and writers besides poetry book release consisting of collection of poems on the theme by various poets across Goa.
Nazrana Darvesh, program convenor, in her inaugural address highlighting the downfall of moral values in society by presenting the statistics how growing immorality trend is destroying the family and social structure.
Eminent writer, poet and social activist N Shivdas said such platforms provide writers and poets to express their feelings and raise issues of society for betterment.
Foziya Rabab, eminent Urdu poet, brought to notice that freedom without morality is destructive and how the social media and new technologies can create truth to false and vice versa to create chaos in society
Asif Hussain, chairman, Centre for Study of Philosophy and Humanities, shared the need for divine guidance to maintain Morality standards. The program ended with thanks note from Konkani Shanti Publications chairman Samiulla Belwadi. Arshiya Inamdar and Chitra Kshirsagar hosted the programme.
