MARGAO: Congress young leader Kanhaiya Kumar on Friday said that the Narendra Modi government has failed to implement correct policies and allocate proper share of the budget for the educational area. “Tenth percent of the entire budget should be allocated to the educational area. But this government has not taken it seriously.” Kanhiaya Kumar said.
He was speaking at the ‘Yuva Spandan’ program at Margao, organised by Congress. While interacting with the students Kanhaiya Kumar said that the student community should introspect where this government is taking our nation.
Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat, GPCC President Girish Chodankar, National President of NSUI Neeraj Kudan, Naushad Chowdhari, State President of NSUI Goa and others were also present for the interaction session.
He said that students should not neglect the issue of defections which took place in Goa and should send these betrayers home in comming assembly elections.
“Such MLAs are weakening our democracy and taking away our rights for the vested interest.” He said.
He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has bought an airplane worth 8500 crores and a vehicle costing 16 crores.
He appealed to save the foundation of democracy. “we all need to introspect that a party which didn’t take part in the freedom struggle of India, will never work in the interest of the nation. It tends to sell the nation to their crony capitalist friends.” Kanhiaya Kumar charged.
National President of NSUI Neeraj Kundansaid that BJP’s policies are anti-Students. “Government is selling everything and making privatization. BJP is responsible for unemployment and all the problems faced by the nation.
“Modi Government has not given a single rupee relief to the student community during the COVID pandemic. It failed to resolve the issues of students.” He said.
He added that universities should decrease the fees, as students are appearing for online classes. “But the government even failed to give this relief. BJP government is more concern about its crony capitalist friends and not the student community.” He said.
He appealed to students to support Congress and bring change in Goa.
Digambar Kamat said that youth power will play a major role in the assembly election as unemployment has been increased by the BJP government. “Goans are migrating to other states and nations in search of jobs. This should not happen. But this is happening as the government has failed to create jobs and employment.” Kamat said.
He said that jobs are being sold now, hence there is a need to bring the Congress government to power for transparency.
