  4. Joel Andrade to contest Goa Youth Congress president polls

Panaji
Corporation of The City of Panaji (CCP) councillor Joel Andrade on Tuesday filed his nomination for the Goa Youth Congress President’s election to be held from September 30 – October 30, 2022 in Goa.

Speaking to the media, Joel said, “We have fielded a team across Goa that will contest for different positions – State GS, District and Block – that will work to build the party from ground zero. We have Ahraz Mulla, former State NSUI president; Shaeen Gomes, among others who are working with us. We need to rejuvenate the party cadre and gear up for the challenges that lie ahead of us. Please remember, a rejuvenated Congress has the best chance to defeat the BJP nationally.”

When asked if the eight MLAs defecting to the BJP will have any impact on the upcoming Youth Congress rejig, Joel said,” BJP has been trying their best to write the obituary of the Congress Party for a very long time now but will never be able to do so. There will be some ups and downs but we will never give up. An opposition is a must in a democracy. Our resolve to fight for a better Goa and India gets even stronger when anybody tries to break us.”
