HARDWORKING CANDIDATES NEED NOT WORRY ABOUT WARD RESERVATIONS- URBAN DEVELOPMENT MINISTER MILIND NAIK
VASCO: Urban Development Minister Milind Naik on Tuesday said that hard working candidates who have worked for the people need not worry about ward reservations ahead of municipal elections.
Naik was speaking to media persons on the sidelines of inauguration of a new sewerage line at Baina in the presence of ward councillor Leo Rodrigues

“Zilla Panchayat (ZP) elections will be held in mid-December on a weekend, considering the Old Goa feast and the Christmas season. The municipal elections will not be declared before that and as far as the reservation of wards are concerned, the process will be done as every year and as per law.
I wonder why so many candidates in the fray are worried about reservations. Any person who has worked for the people will get elected any which ways and at any place with or without reservations. Hardworking candidates need not worry about reservations,” Naik said.
Naik said that the sewerage project was a long pending dream and would be taken up at a cost of around Rs 18 lakh and would be completed within 90 days.
Councillor Leo Rodrigues said that the Urban Development Minister had helped him take up works of Rs 80 lakh in his ward IX.
