Launching a sharp attack on the Pramod Sawant-led BJP government in the state, Goa TMC Media Coordinator Trajano D’Mello, Goa TMC ST/SC Coordinator Santosh Mandrekar, and Goa TMC Co-coordinator Vincent Fernandes today alleged that the BJP government is attempting to tamper with the retirement rule to promote ‘back-door entry’
Highlighting the ambiguity in the retirement rule, Goa TMC Media Coordinator Trajano D’Mello said, ‘It’s been more than 22 years since the Goa State Civil Service (Retirement) Rules, 2000 was passed and the government has now decided to implement it to only further their political gains’ He further added, ‘The government must release white paper elaborating on how they wish to take action against those termed ‘lethargic’
Bringing to fore the BJP-led government’s hidden agenda, D’Mello said, ‘The government wants to apply the rules to the employees who have attained the age of 50-55 years. It is a backdoor strategy to make way for favored youth and is an indirect way to bring down the retirement age from 60 to 55/50 years.’ He further pointed out that if the employees are lethargic due to health reasons then there must be a medical committee to verify the reason. At present, there is no such medical committee to verify the government’s justification.’
Goa TMC condemns such injustices vetted out towards the people of Goa and demands the BJP government to release a white paper with guidelines on the removal of ‘lethargic’ government officials
