  3. Goa suffering from IT policy seriousness: LoP Yuri Alemao

loP Yuri Alemao, speaking during calling attention over IT, said that Goa does not suffer from lack of talent, but there is need of good policies.

“We have a large pool of educated youth in Artificial Intelligence, creative technologies, digital design, IT infrastructure and data services. What Goa lacks is serious, sustained policy commitment to convert talent into jobs. Talent without opportunity only results in migration,” Alemao said.

“What Goa lacks is serious, sustained policy commitment to convert talent into jobs. Talent without opportunity only results in migration. Goa is losing its youth, by not attracting industry. Every year, Goan engineers, designers, developers and data professionals are forced to leave the State for Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and overseas markets,” he said.

“This is not because Goa is unattractive,
it is because there are no serious ecosystems here. Goa needs a clear AI, IT and creative tech policy, targeted skill and upskill programmes, plug-and-play IT infrastructure, policy stability for 10–15 years to start and beyond, and aggressive courting of companies exiting saturated metros, Without this, no talent pool will stay,” he said.
