The Goa Startup Policy was introduced in the year 2017. The same policy was revamped
and launched as the Goa Startup policy 2021. As per the policy, the Startup – IT Promotion
Cell (SITPC) reports to the duly constituted Empowered Committee (EC) and oversees the
implementation of both the Startup Policy 2021 and IT Policy 2018 besides approving grants
for the disbursement of incentives to the Startups.
Based on the above policy, 38 applications were scrutinised under Startup Policy 2021 and 1
application under Goa IT Policy 2018.
Out of the 38 applications, 32 applications from 6 startups were received for the salary
reimbursement scheme and 6 applications from 5 startups were received for Reimbursement
of Expenses for Startups Operating from Leased/ Privately Owned Premises Scheme.
Apart from the above, one application received under the Goa IT Policy 2018 was for the
Land/Built Up Area Rebate Scheme.
The approval for incentive disbursement for all the above applications was sought under the
Empowered Committee held on 29th August 2022 at 11.00 am at Conference Hall, 3rd Floor,
Paryatan Bhavan, Panaji, Goa.
The meeting was chaired by Hon’ble Chief Minister in the presence of Hon’ble Minister IT,
Chairperson (ITG) and other dignitaries/members of the committee.

The Government appreciated the work of the school Dr. K B Hedgewar Vidyamandir,
Karapur Tisk, Sakhali Goa including the Headmaster Shri. Sadanand Mishal and the teacher
Smt. Milan Patil for encouraging the students to explore the opportunities in the field of
robotics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, etc. through the Robotics lab which is fully
equipped with STEM materials such as Arduino kits, robo kits, 3D printers, STEM toys kits,
e-tablets and many more.
The session concluded by felicitating Master Viraj Vishwanath Marathe and Miss Janhvee
Dattaguru Joshi of the above school for developing the AgeCare App for dementia patients
and its care givers. Additionally, Master Vignesh Shetye, also a student of the same school
was appreciated for developing a Fault finding device for electrical lines.
