Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College (Autonomous), Cujira-Bambolim has been honored with the Best College Award for Sustainability Practices by the Indian Institute of Corporate Social Responsibility (IICSR) at the prestigious International Net Zero Conference held in Goa. The event, supported by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), celebrated institutions driving India’s transition to net-zero emissions through innovative sustainability initiatives.
This award was presented by Sudin Dhavlikar, Hon Minister for Energy and PWD, Govt of Goa in presence of Smt Pratima Dhond, President of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Shrinivas Dempo, Manoj Patil, Col Anil Pokhriyal CEO of the MEPSC, and Harsha Saxena, CEO of tbe IICSR.
‘This accolade reflects the visionary leadership of Shrinivas Dempo and Pallavi Dempo, who have championed sustainable and green practices across the institution’ said Prin. Manoj Kamat under whose able leadership the college has successfully mapped all of its courses across all programs, along with all events, to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Sustainability and environmental practices are also embedded in every course and program as a compulsory element fostering a holistic approach to eco-conscious education.
As an MOU partner with the Goa Institute of Management (GIM), Dempo College benefits from strong collaborative support. The college extends sincere thanks to Prof. Ajit Parulekar, Director of GIM, for his unwavering guidance. Mentorship from Prof. Divya Singhal on SDG mapping over the past two years has further strengthened these efforts.

The International Net Zero Conference united global leaders, policymakers, and academics to accelerate renewable energy and climate action.
