Margao – Failure of the BJP Government under Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant to regulate Sand Mining Activity & Encouragement given to IIlegal Sand Extraction has resulted in shocking incident of Gun Shots fired at Curchorem killing one person allegedly by Sand Mafia charged Congress Working President and Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao.
Reacting to the shooting incident at Curchorem today, Yuri Alemao came down heavily on the BJP Government for its agenda to promote illegal activities in Sand and Laterite mining.
Rampant destruction of environment is at full swing in Goa. Government is deliberately turning a blind eye on the various Mafias operating in Goa. It is sad that BJP Government cant even provide safety and security to Goans during festivals, Yuri Alemao stated.
It is only because of the attitude of the irresponsible BJP Government that the law and order situation in Goa has deteriorated to such a level that criminals do not deter to indulge in crimes in broad daylight. There is no fear of the law enforcement authorities on people as the said authorities have lost all their credibilities by becoming puppets of the government said Yuri Alemao.
I demand that the Police Officials must move swiftly and nab all those involved in the incident at Curchorem. I also urge the DGP to investigate the root cause of the shooting act and ensure that the masterminds are also nabbed immediately, Yuri Alemao demanded.
