Highlighting the importance of Touristic App Developed by Goa Tourism Development Corporation Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has said that with the Help of this App the tourists will easily find their destination during their visit to Goa and further mentioned that Government is constantly working to provide innovative things to the people of Goa.
Dr. Sawant was speaking at an inaugural function of Development of Tourism Infrastructure organised by the Department of Tourism and Goa Tourism Development Corporation at Mangueshi in Ponda taluka today.
Speaking about the Project he said that this development of tourism infrastructure will strengthen and enhance tourism capacity at Shree Manguesh Devasthan. Further he said in Phase one we have completed the basic infrastructure facilities like Toilet block, TIC, parking, illumination and shops and soon we will complete the Phase 2 of the Project. In Phase 2 it is planned to provide a food plaza restaurant and community hall and cottages for the visiting tourist at a cost of approximately Rs. 28 Crores and to complete such projects the government needs support from the Public.Further he informed that Goa has completed many infrastructure development projects all over Goa.
Highlighting the history of Manguesh temple, the chief minister said that the temple had its origin in kushusthali Cortalim Which fell to the invading Portuguese in 1543. Our ancestors moved the manguesh linga from the original site at the Kushasthali Cortalim to its present location at Mangueshi, he added saying that during that time Portuguese had demolished many temples in Goa but our ancestors built those temples again. While celebrating the 60th year of Goa Liberation the government endeavoured to undertake the beautification of such temples in Goa. We have to preserve our culture and temples he added.
Union Minister of State for Tourism and Ports Shri Shripad Naik; Minister for Art and Culture, Shri Govind Gaude,Managing Director , GTDC Shri Nikhil Desai, IAS, ZP member Shri. Damodar Naik, Sarpanch ,Panch Members and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
In his address, Union Minister Shri Shripad Naik said that it is the responsibility of the Government to provide better infrastructure and other facilities to the tourists. He said this Project mainly consists of 58 nos of shops with the parking facilities for 75 nos of cars, 75 nos of 2 wheelers, 70 nos mini-buses or 40 nos buses along with toilet facilities. The development area also consists of drainage, footpaths and illumination while keeping the spiritual tourism in mind the government has developed many such projects in Goa he added saying that the central government under the various schemes helps the state of Goa in infrastructural development. He further highlighted the various central government Schemes to provide funds to build development projects.
