The Budget 2026 announcements with a strong maritime focus—covering inland waterways, seaplane connectivity, ship-repair hubs, and last-mile logistics—are a positive development for Goa. These initiatives will be critical in building a robust, self-reliant maritime and logistics ecosystem, while simultaneously reducing logistics costs and improving supply-chain efficiency. Support for container manufacturing will help curb import dependence and strengthen India’s export and logistics value chain. Additionally, sustained investments in logistics infrastructure and inland waterways will enhance multimodal connectivity, improve cargo movement efficiency, and promote more sustainable transport solutions.
Together, these initiatives will accelerate growth across the maritime and logistics sectors nationwide. In this context, states with coastal access, ports, and inland waterways such as Goa stand to benefit through increased industrial activity, development of ancillary services, and stronger integration into India’s evolving multimodal logistics network.
