CURCHOREM: “Within2 months of my election as an MLA, I will try to minimize the unemployment issue which is very big issue today in Curchorem constituency.” assured Curchorem Congress party candidate Amit Patkar during the function held at Curchorem on Friday to screen the “Nirdhar” vitual rally of Rahul Gandhi. Speaking further he promised to start a facilitation Center each in Municipal as well as Assolda and Xeldem panchayat areas to give government social schemes to the needy at their door steps as many such schemes are nonteaching to them. “During my house to house visit in the constituency, I have noticed a number of houses of the poor people requiring repairs which are on the verge of collapse. Such houses I will repair through various government schemes and if not I will repair them from my own money.” assured Patkar Promising to complete all the pending projects on priority basis, Patkar said that along with the infrastructure of health advanced health facilities are required. “Not only building is required for health center but good advanced health facilities are required and same way advanced educational facilities are also required in the vicinity which the current MLA failed to do and instead of expanding and making the educational hub on the available land near the government polytechnic at Cacora, he used it to construct 100 tones solid waste treatment plant when such a big plant is not required at all.” said Patkar .Congratulating the Congress party for closing the door for defectors and giving opportunity for the new faces like him, he promised to be loyal and faithful to the Congress party and read the content of the signed affidavit given to the party president by him and informed about the oath taken by all the Congress candidates before the God not to leave the party under any circumstances. Former Curchorem MLA and ex-Law Minister Domnic Fernandes said that no much improvement has taken place in the constituency.  “All the existing facilities like sports, cultural and educational were provided in the constituency during the Congress government. The 16000 sq. meters land which was acquired for parking lot is destroyed by constructing a building on it even though there is scarcity of parking space in the market area.” said Fernandes and informed that another12000 and 25000 meters land was acquired during his tenure as MLA to constructed market complex including fish market and a KTC bus stand respectively but nothing has been done yet in this regard. Mahila Block President Harshita Dessai urged the women to be united as it is their responsibility to protect the lives of the future generations as they give birth to new life. PCC General Secretary Manohar Naik, newly inducted leader Sudhaker Naik also spoke on the occasion. Earlier Block President Pushkal Sawant Welcomed the gathering while Block Youth Secretary Benson proposed vote of thanks while Parag Sabnis proposed vote of thanks
