Vedanta Sesa Goa-Iron Ore Goa (IOG) further strengthened its commitment to community development through a series of employee-led volunteerism events organised at Piligao , Maem and Bicholim, as part of its Sesa Employee Volunteerism Activity. The outreach reflected IOG’s ongoing focus on fostering sustained engagement with the local community through purposeful initiatives.
Employees, alongside senior leadership including Mr. Dhirajkumar Jagdish, Deputy CEO – IOG, participated in multiple impactful activities organised for the community such as health and hygiene awareness sessions for adolescent girls, career guidance for college students, financial and digital literacy workshops for women, and an interactive tech talk for school students. A friendly football match was also organised to promote sportsmanship and strengthen community bonds.
Vedanta employees also facilitated sales through the ‘Rakhi’ stalls set up in partnership with Keshava Seva Sadhana, featuring handmade products crafted by special children, with proceeds of the sale going into supporting the cause.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Dhirajkumar Jagdish, Deputy CEO – IOG, said:
