Republic day will be celebrated in the State on January 26, 2022 as in other parts of the country. The main State Level function will be held at parade ground, opposite Bal Bhavan, Campal, Panaji Goa at 8.45 a.m. where Governor of Goa, Shri. P. S. Sreedharan Pillai will unfurl the National Flag, review the parade and address the people of the State. On his arrival at the venue of the function the Governor will be received by the Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chief Secretary, Shri. Parimal Rai, Director, General of Police, Dr. Indradev Shukla, IPS, Flag Officer Commanding Goa Area and Station Commander Army.

Apart from the Chief Minister, the Republic Day function will also be attended by the Cabinet Ministers, Leader of opposition, Shri. Digambar Kamat, judges of High Court, Ld Advocate General, Members of Parliament, MLA’s and other dignitaries.

The highlight of the Republic Day celebration will be the presentation of Mass Parade Display, Mass Dance and Mass Songs by School children drawn from Schools of Panaji and its surrounding areas to be organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs.

To mark the celebration various programmes have also been planned at the Taluka Level at 8.45 a.m. on January 26, 2022.

The Collector of South Goa will unfurl the national flag at the District Level function to be held at Margao whereas, Additional Collector, Ponda will unfurl the National Tricolor at Ponda. In addition to this, Additional Collector, Mapusa will unfurl the National Flag at Mapusa. Besides the Deputy Collector of Mormugao, Sanguem, Canacona, Pernem, Sattari, Quepem, Bicholim and Dharbandora will unfurl National Flag at their respective Taluka Head Quarters.

In view of Covid-19 situation in the State, all SOP’s issued by the Government will be strictly adhered to and that wearing of masks and use of sanitizers is mandatory.
