Youth Leader Prabhav Naik of Madganvcho Awaaz has issued a strong reminder to Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, over the persistent flooding at the South Goa District Hospital. In a post from his verified social media handle, Prabhav referenced his earlier letter dated 27th May 2025, expressing concern over the continued silence and inaction from the authorities.
In his post, Prabhav stated, “Respected Minister for Road Transport & Highways Bab Nitin Gadkari, this is a reminder regarding my letter dated 27th May 2025. Neither have I received an acknowledgement, nor has the issue been resolved. Flooding at the South Goa District Hospital continues to cause severe hardships to patients and exposes the ongoing government apathy.” The post was tagged to the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s Office and the Chief Minister’s Office.
Since being opened to the public, the South Goa District Hospital has faced repeated flooding during monsoon, raising serious concerns about the facility’s basic infrastructure. Even moderate rains lead to waterlogging at the entrance, affecting patient movement and disrupting essential services.
The letter sent on 27th May also flagged the lack of safe and efficient access to Goa Medical College Hospital in Bambolim. In emergencies, patients from South Goa face delays due to poor road infrastructure and chronic traffic congestion, putting lives at risk.
Despite these critical issues being brought to the Ministry’s attention, there has been no response or sign of remedial action. The ongoing indifference reflects a larger failure to prioritise public health and safety.
Madganvcho Awaaz urges immediate intervention. The people of South Goa deserve reliable and resilient healthcare facilities, especially during the monsoon. Accountability must be fixed, and systemic neglect must end.
