Established in 1935 by Shri Satish Ranjan Das, The Doon School stands as one of India’s finest educational institutions, renowned for providing holistic education that nurtures leadership, creativity, and character.
Artist-in-Residency Experience
The residency brought together 12 talented artists from across India, each encouraged to work in their unique style and preferred medium.
Over the 15-day camp, we were tasked with completing more than one artwork. I created a painting from my signature “Purusharth” series using oil on canvas (3.5 ft × 4 ft) and also produced a few watercolor works inspired by the serene campus.
The residency offered a wonderful opportunity to create, interact, and exchange ideas with nationally acclaimed artists, enriching the creative experience for everyone involved.
The Artist-in-Residency at The Doon School was organized for the first time with the noble objective of raising funds for student scholarships. This meaningful initiative was led by board member Mr. Vinayak Bahuguna and the Headmaster of the school.
