MLA of Velim Assembly Constituency, Shri. Cruz Silva, inaugurated the second “Aamche Arogya Polyclinic” in the constituency on Sunday. The new health centre is located at Menezes Bhatt, MLA Office, Sao Jose de Areal.
The clinic was formally inaugurated by Fr. Slater Alemão, Assistant Parish Priest of St. Jose Church, Sao Jose de Areal. The event was graced by MLA of Benaulim Capt. Venzy Viegas, Dr. Shawn S. D’Silva (ASG Eye Specialist), Sao Jose de Areal Sarpanch Carmine Fernandes, Ambelim Sarpanch Alex D’Silva, AAP Goa President Adv. Amit Palekar, Vice President Roque Mascarenhas, along with several local panchayat members and residents.
This is the second eye care clinic in the Velim constituency, launched following the overwhelming response received by the first clinic, where over 50 successful cataract surgeries were performed within just six months. Owing to the increasing demand from residents of San Jose de Areal and Dicarpale, this new health centre has been set up. The clinic will be open twice a week for eye checkups.
“We are happy to bring quality eye care closer to the people of Sao Jose de Areal and Dicarpale,” said MLA Cruz Silva. “The success of the first clinic in Velim has been highly encouraging, and this new polyclinic represents our strong commitment to the health and well-being of the people in our constituency.”
MLA Silva further stated that the Aamche Arogya Polyclinic has been established with the objective of providing accessible and quality eye care services to the local community. Other leaders also addressed the gathering and shared useful information with the attendees.
