LAWYERS DEMAND SACKING OF CABRAL AS LAW MINISTER
PANAJI: All India Lawyers Union, Goa State Committee on Friday staged protest Azad Maidan, Panaji condemning the statement by Law Minister Nilesh Cabral regarding charging of fees by lawyers.
AILU Goa State Committee general secretary Victor Savio Braganza said that statements made by Cabral against the lawyers in Goa were derogatory and demanded an apology from the Minister.
AILU Goa State president Adv Avinash Bhosale and other lawyers demanded unconditional withdrawal of the defamatory statements by the Minister against the legal fraternity of Goa.
They said that the Minister had falsely alleged that lawyers in Goa are overcharging their clients at the time of conveyancing and registration of deeds and documents and had threatened to “simplify the procedure so much that advocates will not be required anymore.”
