GOA GOVT EXTENDS OTS SCHEME FOR PAYMENT OF WATER BILLS TILL FEBRUARY 28
PANAJI: The PWD has extended One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme for payment of water bills for consumers till 28th February 2021.
PWD Minister Deepak Prabhu Pauskar told reporters that there are five payment options for consumers with delayed payment charges being waived off from 20% to 100%. If consumers pay the bills pending upto 31st October 2020, in two installments, they can get a 100% waiver of delayed payment charges.
If the dues are paid in three installment there is 80% waiver of delayed payment charges and so on. The dues can be paid with a maximum of six installments where there is 20% waiver of delayed payment charges, he said.
Pauskar said water consumers will have to pay the first installment within seven days from the date of registration and subsequent installments as per schedule. If consumers fail to avail of OTS scheme their water connections will be disconnected. So far Rs 40 lakh were recovered from 71 defaulters under the scheme, he said.
PWD Principal Chief Engineer Uttam Parsekar was also present.
