PONDA: Leader of the opposition Yuri Alemao alleged that double engine BJP government failed to maintain projects and hospitals constructed during Congress regime in Goa. Yuri Alemao was speaking after visiting sub-district hospital in Ponda along with South Goa MP Captain Viriato Fernandes and Ponda Congress leader Rajesh Verenkar after citizens complaint of lacking of facilities such as CT scan and MRI machine and shortage of expert doctors in the hospital.

PONDA: Leader of the opposition Yuri Alemao alleged that double engine BJP government failed to maintain projects and hospitals constructed during Congress regime in Goa. Yuri Alemao was speaking after visiting sub-district hospital in Ponda along with South Goa MP Captain Viriato Fernandes and Ponda Congress leader Rajesh Verenkar after citizens complaint of lacking of facilities such as CT scan and MRI machine and shortage of expert doctors in the hospital.
Yuri Alemao said that the sub district hospital at Ponda was built by the Congress government to provide better health facilities to people, however it lacks required facilities besides specialist doctors since BJP ruled the state.
Yuri Alemao also said that the government having crores of rupees to orgainse events but no money to spent on medical facilities in district hospital as citizens from Ponda taluka fully depending on this hospital.
Captain Viriato Fernandes said health is wealth but Ponda and surrounding talukas are hit by lack of facilitieswhich he said he would raise the issue with the Union government. Captain Viriato Fernandes also said that the one company through social corporate responsibility is ready to provide CT scan machine to the hospital but the government decline to accept the same.
Rajesh Verenkar took a dig on Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant by stating that the he only visits at Ponda to cut birthday cakes and that too during night time but failed to visit Ponda district hospital despite citizens facing issues in the hospital.
