
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today inaugurated the renovated school building of Government Higher Secondary School at Khandola. During his speech he promised new School building in 5000 square meters area within 3 years. Similarly, to solve the transport problem of students in remote area of Ponda Taluka, he also provided permanent Kadamba school bus for Government Higher Secondary at Khandola which will benefit 700 students from remote areas of Ponda besides Amona
Speaking further he urged the teachers to stay updated about new developments in educational sector to guide students in choosing education and building their career. He said Goa has lot of educational opportunities in all field of education and that teacher guide them in selecting education for better job propects after twelvth std. He also urged students to switch to skill based education for better job opportunities.
With respect to Khandola, Government Higher Secondary School he said that this is the only Government Higher Secondary School in Ponda Taluka. It was in a dilapidated state, however PTA Chairman Narayan Sawant and members made constant follow ups. Based on their request I realized the need to renovate the 33 year old building. He said besides Government would acquire 5000 Square meters land to build a new School Building considering need of students from remote area. He also made use of bus transport available for students not to use bikes.
PTA Chairman Narayan Sawant thanked the Chief Minister for his contribution towards renovation of school building. He said constant follow up by Parents and education department helped complete renovation work at earliest.
