An Ayurvedic Medical Camp under the initiative “Swasth Nari Sashakt Pariwaar” was organized on 29th September 2025 by the NSS Unit of Swami Vivekanand College of Commerce, Bori, in collaboration with the Ayurvedic Medical College and Research Centre, Shiroda – Arogya Dham. The camp was inaugurated in the presence of distinguished guests including Prof.& Principal Achut Pednekar, of Swami Vivekanand Vidyaprasarak Mandal’s College of Commerce, along with dignitaries from the Ayurvedic Medical College. The medical team present for the camp consisted of Dr. Kiran Kaushik, Dr. Shrikrishna Gawatankar and Dr. Aaditya Samant, supported by PG Scholars Dr. Ishwari Deshpande and Dr. Yogesh Jadhav, and interns Ms. Padma Kelkar, Ms. Shruti Sawant, Mr. Prateek Ukidve and Ms. Akansha Sangare.
The program began with a unique welcome of the guests using peacock feathers, symbolizing health and purity. This was followed by a welcome address by Principal Prof. Achut Pednekar, who spoke about the importance and evolution of Ayurveda over the years and its growing relevance in the modern world. Later, Dr. Aaditya Samant, Associate Professor of Ayurvedic Medical College, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of a healthy woman in building a strong family. He also briefed the audience about the facilities provided by their college and appreciated the thoughtful welcome with the peacock feather, highlighting its medicinal value in Ayurveda.
The anchoring of the program was done gracefully by Ms. Sangam Varma, a student of Swami Vivekanand College. The medical camp received an encouraging response, with around 60 individuals benefiting from the consultations and medical facilities provided. The camp thus proved to be a meaningful initiative in promoting women’s health and spreading awareness about the role of Ayurveda in ensuring family well-being.
