Veteran Actor and Director Rajdeep Naik has joined the Aam Aadmi Party in the presence of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. Naik state that this is because he believes truly in the Kejriwal model and feels it is the only alternative for Goa. Naik was truly impressed by Kejriwal’s Electricity and Job Guarantees. Looking at the present scenario of heightenedunemployment and the effect the pandemic effect on the livelihood of people, he decided that only AAP was the party that worked hard enough to help Goenkars.
Naik is famous artist of Goa, and a well known theater personality .Naik hails from Savoiverem Ponda, holds two Master degrees to his credit. He entered the Konkani theatreat very young age and then went on to producing Tiatr shows. He has many dramas to his credit for whichhave won him awards. His productions are very popular among the people of Goa. He has worked incollaboration with the Department of Art & Culture, Goa in organizing ‘Natya Mahotsav’. In the year2012 he was awarded the Yuva Srujan Puraskar by the Directorate of Art and Culture, GoaGovernment. Rajdeep has made tremendous effort to promote and sustain the Goan Culture andHeritage through his performance and works of art.Naik was in the headlines sometime in the month of July, as he had criticized the present Governmentwherein, they had announced a one-time settlement of Rs.10000 as one-time financial assistance forartist, as it was an insult to the community. The artists were jobless since March 2020 and no efforthad been made by the government to support them. Would the artist be able to sustain their familieswith this meagre amount? The outcome of this was that Rajdeep’s car was vandalized. This attack waswidely condemned by Goenkars
