LIFEGUARDS REUNITE 2 MISSING CHILDREN WITH THEIR FAMILIES AT CALANGUTE BEACH

PANAJI: Drishti lifeguards today reunited two missing children with their families and did one medical intervention at Calangute beach.

A family from Karnataka were at Calangute beach when they realised their six-year-old daughter was not around them. The family began panicking, while shouting for help. Drishti Lifesaver Laxman Paryekar immediately carried out a search operation with the aid of the lifesaver’s jeep while announcing on the PA system about the missing girl. A short while later the girl was found and reunited with her family.

Later in the day, a girl of seven years wandered away from her family and who are from Maharashtra. Drishti lifesavers Ashwin Ghag and Sangharsh Asolkar immediately carried out a search operation and the girl was found and reunited with her family.

Today Calangute also witnessed a medical intervention. A group from Delhi were in the water when a 34-year-old male lost his balance and slipped. He sustained injures on his hand. His friends immediately called out for help to the Drishti lifesavers and first aid was promptly administered.

Since the start of 2021 there have been 24 cases of missing children reported at the beach, where Drishti lifesavers have conducted search operations and reunited them with their families.
