DRISHTI LIFEGUARDS RESCUE TOURISTS AT DUDHSAGAR WATERFALL, CANDOLIM AND ASHVEM; ONE MISSING CHILD REUNITED WITH HER FAMILY AT CALANGUTE
PANAJI: A 26-year-old male from Bangalore who had ventured into the waters at the Dudhsagar waterfall found himself in the seep areas and panicked. He started gesturing for help. Drishti lifesaver Shahnawaj Nadaf dived into the waters and secured victim with a rescue tube and rescued him.
Earlier, on Friday, 18-year-old youth from Karnataka entered into the sea to have a swim at the Candolim beach and got pulled in by a rip current. Noticing the victim struggling for help Drishti lifesavers Akshay Desai and Nehal Kholkar dashed into the waters and securing the victim onto a rescue board and rescue tube brought the male ashore.
There was a double rescue at Ashvem today of two males, aged 29 years and 30 years. A group of people were in the sea at Ashvem where two individuals started calling out for help. Drishti lifesaver Sudhir Parab rescued the victims with the use of a rescue tube and rescue board and brought the duo ashore.
Later at Calangute, a girl of seven years was reunited with her family. A family from Uttar Pradesh were chatting among themselves when their seven-year-old daughter who was playing around the area strayed away from her family. One of the family members realised child was not around them and began panicking, while shouting out for help. Drishti lifesavers immediately carried out a search operation with the aid of the lifesaver’s jeep while announcing on the PA system about the missing girl. A short while later the girl was found and reunited with her family.
