GoVan is a flagship initiative that aims to conserve Goa’s rich biodiversity through livelihood-based interventions. It empowers local communities, especially rural women, by promoting nature-based enterprises that harness local biological resources in a sustainable manner.
With the establishment of Multiprocessing Centres like this one, women in rural areas are being provided with tools and training to process, package, and brand traditional Goan products made from local fruits, vegetables, herbs, and more. This initiative strengthens their economic independence, enabling them to become self-reliant entrepreneurs while preserving traditional knowledge and practices.

Through initiatives like GoVan, GSBB is helping bridge the gap between ecological protection and economic development, ensuring that Goa’s natural and cultural heritage is preserved while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for generations to come.
This is not just infrastructure, it’s a movement toward a greener, more self-reliant, and inclusive future for Goa.
