  3. BJP government is shining as the major litigant against the people: Yuri Alemao

Stating that BJP government is shining as the major litigant against the people, the Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao in his budget speech demanded disclosure of debt-GSDP ratio and a roadmap for mining and redemption of public debt.

Stating that there is mis-match between capital outlay and project timelines, he hinted that some projects are spillovers from previous years.

Yuri Alemao also demanded the linkage of Skill Development and industrial investment to employment.

“The Goa government is a perfect example of intolerance and disrespect to the voices of the people. The Goa government has never accepted the pro-people orders and judgements of the Courts. They have challenged these decisions in the Supreme Court. Goa government is shining as the major litigant against the people,” Yuri Alemao said.

“PM Modiji is known nationally and internationally for monologues. Never seen a single dialogue from PM with media for over 11 years. How can the CM claim Lokshakti when legal brains are hired to defeat the voices of people through litigation in Supreme Court,” Alemao said.

He said that government spends in crores as legal fees for hiring legal brains to defeat the people who fight to preserve Goa’s land, forests, environment, rivers and our mother River Mhadei.

Speaking over Health, Alemao said that this department needs support from the government. “On the health front, Rs. 857 crore allocation for health services and Rs. 993 crore for the Goa Medical College and Hospital will do no good if the doctors are insulted publicly and related videos are uploaded on social media,” Alemao said.

He said that the Budget Speech document, though of 96 pages; around 38 pages are covered by Annexures listing out road works and construction projects.

“In the balance 58 pages, the Chief Minister has showered schemes as usual with his usual pet slogans and jargon of Viksit, Sarvodaya, Antodaya, Gramodaya, Swayampoorna and Lok Shakti which is seen in the former budget speeches. Nothing of this is reflected in the working of the government and the administration,” Alemao said.
