KONKAN RAILWAY POLICE ARREST 3, RECOVER STOLEN 23 MOBILE PHONE HANDSETS

MARGAO: Konkan Railway Police on Friday arrested three persons from Delhi and recovered from them stolen 23 mobile phone handsets from them.

The Polcie gave the names of the accused as Mukesh Singh (25), Mazhar Ahmed (33) and Nizam Baba Khan (32), all from Delhi.

Konkan Railway PI Hiru Kavlekar said that 23 mobile phone headsets of different companies valued at Rs 5 lakh have been recovered from the accused.

PI Kavlekar, who is investigating the case said that three of them were found moving in suspicious manner near Konkan Railway area at Margao and police accosted them and during check, recovered stolen mobile phones from them. All the mobile phone handsets were kept hidden in a bag.

According to PI Kavlekar, the accused were trying to leave for Delhi by train. The trio had arrived in Goa on the eve of Christmas and since then they were moving on beaches, where they stole mobile phone handsets mostly belonging to tourists.

Further investigations are in progress.
