A wave of enthusiasm for farming is sweeping through Porvorim as the younger generation takes to agriculture with renewed energy, thanks to the efforts of the Kisan Shakti initiative.
Porvorim MLA Shri Rohan Khaunte, who has been working closely with farmers in Porvorim for the past 17 years, expressed pride in seeing agriculture thrive in the area.
He shared that his work has included introducing modern farming techniques, providing infrastructure support, and personally working in the fields to better understand the challenges faced by farmers.
“Today, we are seeing the results of those efforts,” said Shri Khaunte. “Young people in Porvorim are now stepping forward to take up agriculture. This shows that farming here is not only continuing, but also evolving — staying connected to our traditions while embracing new innovations.”
The Kisan Shakti programme has played a key role in encouraging this growth, ensuring that Porvorim’s farming community stays strong and future-ready.
