
The Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant unfurled the national tri-colour to mark the 60 years of Goa’s Liberation at the state level Goa Liberation Day function held at Campal parade ground in the city today .
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Minister said his Government has always accorded top priority to the interest of the people while undertaking any developmental project.
As a Chief Minister of the State he said he has discharged his duties with utmost dedication. He said the Government for the first time has constituted GOA CSR Authority and strived to conduct various social welfare programmes and created mechanisms for forever. The Chief Minister said all of us know that the Government strived to tackle the pandemic situation by initiating various measures and due to active involvement and support of the stakeholders.
The Chief Minister also said that the Government under Atmnirbhar Bharat initiative is endeavouring to implement centrally sponsored and State Government schemes for the betterment and wellbeing of every needy citizen in the State. Apart from this, the Government has also initiated steps to make our women, youth self-reliant. To accomplish this objective also conducted various skill development programmes he said
The Government has left no stone unturned in providing required infrastructure for Government Departments and strived for fulfilling basic needs of the people. He also said he is proud to say that Goa has become the first state to achieve the objective of cent percent vaccination in the state.
This year the Government has conferred awards in various categories to the officers of different Departments which included Police Department and the recipients of Chief Minister’s Police (Gold) Security Medal Service to Shri Harischandra V. Madkaikar, Dy. SP, and Coastal Security.

The recipients of Chief Minister’s Fire Service Medals for Meritorious Services from the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services are Shri Shripad G. Gawas, Station Fire Office, Shri Pramod G. Mahale, Leading FireFighter Shri Sayeed Amjad, where as the award of Chief Minister’s Home Guards Defence for outstanding devotion to duty Gold Medal and Certificate were received by Smt. Deepashri D. Chodankar, Assistant Section Leader, Shri Anand S. Parwar, Assistant Section Leader, Shri Jose C. A. T. Pereira, Warden etc.
Shri Dilesh A. Gauns Desai, Chief Forest Surveyor, Shri Shyamsundar Gawas, Range Forest Officer, Shri Bipin S. Phal Desai, Range Forest Officer from the Department of Forests received certificate of Commendation and Shield etc.
Chief Ministers Bravery Awards Certificates to Shri Nilesh Chodankar Chodankar, Shri Devidas Surlikar, Smt. Gauravi Govind Velip was also presented.
Shri K. V. Ramanathan, Technical Director, National Informatics Center (NIC) from the General Administration Department was honored with the State Award for Services provided in e-Governance & Information Technology.
Krishi Ratn, Krishi Vibhushan and Krishi Bhushan awards to farmers for their outstanding work in the Agricultural sector. Those who received the awards were Shri Vassudev alias Vandit R. Naik, Smt. Anitha Mathew Vallikkappen,. Shri Gautam Govind Kamat respectively Shri Deelip Pundalik Narulkar was conferred with Special Agricultural Award Fr. Inacio Almeida annual Award for organic Farming. Whereas Shri Jayvant Vishnu Rane . Shri Nahid Ahmed Shaikh Shiri Chandrahas Krishna Desai received certificate of Appreciation, memento, Shawl and Shriphal. Bal Bhavans Miss Vaishnavi Joshi Mast. Gurudatta Kulkarni was presented Balashree Awards at the hands of the Chief Minister.
