Mexico is known for its unique culture and diversity, and our cinema is a very important part of this heritage. Our country is the land of great film directors and actors, Which we consider legends. Our films have received many awards around the world.” He described Mexican cinema as being born as an expression of the country’s social and cultural environment. He proudly shares the fact that his mother, María Elena Marques, and father, Miguel Toruko, were very popular actors from the ‘Golden Age’ of Mexican cinema.

He also said, “I have always thought that films are the best way to bridge differences between people and build relationships between nations. Mexico currently houses the great creativity and production potential of the international film industry, leading us to a new era of cinema. We are very proud to have the participation of Mexican films in this exclusive festival. I would like to extend my best support and appreciation to all those who are a part of this beautiful event. During the ‘IFFI Table Talk’ session, Alejandro de Icaza, producer of the film ‘Red Shoes’, said that the Mexican government has a fund for cinema under which they promote films, including artistic films like ours. It is very difficult to make such films without government encouragement as it is very difficult to commercialize them. Weddings in both countries are big, colorful and last for several days. Such cultural affinities may also lead to other projects in the future.
