Young job seekers in Benaulim and their parents were thankful to Capt. Venzy Viegas for organizing the job fair. Constituents appreciated that it a first-time legislator took such an initiative and created employment opportunities for local youth despite being in opposition.
“Many MLAs have served as ministers and chief ministers in the past, but none of them could organize such job fair like our newly elected MLA, who happens to be in opposition,” a youth said.
As per data released by the Labour and Employment Ministry in the Parliament recently, the unemployment rate in Goa for all age groups (15 years and above) is 10.5 per cent which is far higher than the national average of 4.2 per cent.
